PROFILE
Joe Rigsby is
a seasoned forestry professional with a
wealth of experience spanning several
decades.
Graduating
from Auburn University with a degree in
forest management in 1960, Joe embarked
on a remarkable journey in the industry.
After roles that included everything
from extension service agent and
mortgage loan representative to senior
vice president at RMS, he ventured out
on his own, establishing a successful
consulting forestry business that he
continues to operate today.
Based in his
hometown of Georgiana, Rigsby has
dedicated himself to serving private
individuals in managing and maximizing
the value of their timberland
investments. His consultancy offers a
comprehensive range of services, from
timberland appraisals to forest
management and sales.
Despite being
of retirement age, Rigsby remains deeply
passionate about his work. He finds
fulfillment in planting, growing, and
selling timber for his clients, taking
pride in his ability to navigate the
challenges and joys of the forestry
profession. "I’m fortunate enough to
have good clients willing to invest and
grow timber," he said. "I’ve had a lot
of fun, and there’s nothing else I
rather be doing."
