Chip Graham knew early on that he didn’t want to be sitting in an office all day, just looking out the window. He wanted to be outside himself. That decision was solidified when he attended Auburn University and got a degree in forestry. He went to work soon thereafter for Drennen Forestry Services, learning all about forestry service work. But after just a few short years, he realized something else. “I decided that I was fine working long and hard, but if I was, I wanted to do it for myself,” he explained. “I started my own company the very next year.”

With J.H. Graham, Inc., Graham started out contract cruising and doing forestry service work, slowly building up a land management base. Today, he continues to focus on being a timberland management and advisory firm. In total, the company manages 35,000 acres of timberland with an appraised value of more than $45 million for clients in Walker, Winston, Fayette, Marion, and Tuscaloosa Counties, as well as even some clients in Dallas and Madison Counties.
