Joseph Capps found his calling in
forestry through family influences while
attending Auburn University. His
interest in forestry was actually
sparked by his wife's family, all of
whom were foresters, and he shifted his
focus from agriculture to forestry.
Capps’ determination led him to knock on
the door of Forestry Consultants Inc.,
to drop off his resume despite no actual
job posting, a decision that resulted in
a 14-year career with Forestry
Consultants, Inc.
Capps eventually chose to spread his
wings and became a timber buyer for W.
J. Sorrell Lumber in Troy, where he
honed his skills in timber procurement.
Yet just five years later, when Love
decided to retire after 40 years, he
seized the opportunity to purchase
Forestry Consultants, Inc. ,
bringing him full circle back to his
roots.
Today, Capps runs the full-service
forestry consulting firm, offering
timber sales, appraisals, reforestation
projects, and comprehensive land
management services. Based in Opelika,
he specializes in helping landowners
achieve their goals, transforming blank
slates into thriving, well-managed
properties.
