CORE Carbon: Carbon Offset Market for Private Landowners
Matt
Smith is Vice President of Forest Operations at
Finite Carbon.
Several AFOA members have contacted us to ask about carbon offset programs
becoming an option for smaller private forestland owners. Previously, the
carbon offset market was only an option for large industrial tracts of land.
Now, smaller acreage private landowners who manage "sustainably" can also participate, if they
choose. Several companies have programs available, with varying requirements
and benefits for the landowner. We asked Matt to talk to us about
CORE Carbon, offered
by Finite Carbon, and how their program works.

Hardwood Markets During the Pandemic -- What’s Next?
Judd Johnson is the Editor of the
Hardwood Market Report, which is the authoritative resource for the
hardwood products industry, used by industry professionals, government
agencies, and landowners. Judd caught our eye with
this
webinar on the hardwood industry and COVID-19, so we asked him to speak
in broad terms about hardwood market conditions for our members who grow
hardwood timber.
