Terry Beasley’s career in the industry has moved him all over the South. After getting his Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Mississippi State University, he started off in Texas, working as a county forester for the Texas Forest Service, before moving on to Mississippi to become a procurement forester for a hardwood sawmill. Another opportunity took him to Tennessee for a while, before he shortly went right back to Mississippi to work with the Mississippi Forestry Commission as a forester in its Conservation Reserve Program and then as a county forester for Monroe County. After a number of years—and vast experience in a range of roles—Beasley was presented with the opportunity to join a consulting firm, Southern Forest Resources, where he eventually became partner and is now the principal owner.

Southern Forest Resources is a traditional consultancy, helping landowners manage a variety of timber-based objectives. Meeting the objectives of the landowner is the mindset for Beasley and his team, which often includes anything from sales administration and management plans to spraying and tree planting. Though based in Amory, Mississippi, Beasley often ventures into northwest Alabama and even western Tennessee. "I love the outdoors and helping people," Beasley said.
