Stop Staples. Environmental activists are planning a day of harassment
for the Staples office supply company because they sell paper made from trees.
It appears that Staples has begun to cave in to the pressure from the anti-tree
cutting activists. Maybe you can help them. Buy your copy paper from Staples and
be sure to tell the store manager that you are a forest owner and appreciate
that Staples uses your products. Tell him about your forestry activities, like
tree planting and timber stand improvement work.
Click
here to visit the STOP STAPLES website. Treekeepers.org has an action web
page that will give some guidance on what you can do to help Staples thwart the
tree hugger attacks.

P. Shepard at (352) 377-4708x227.
the symposium web page. Editor’s note: We are glad to see that science is
being used to evaluate BMPs. We have been concerned that many in the forestry
community have been too quick to accept “voluntary” BMPs, perhaps to appease
environmentalists and agencies like ADEM and EPA. If state and federal
authorities were able to step back and look objectively at all sources of water
pollution, we suspect they would not waste their time with forestry activities
at all.
