    Hurricane Helene Block Grant Application is available online. The Georgia Ag Commissioner announced that Georgia farmers, ranchers and foresters in eligible counties that have suffered losses in timber and certain other losses due to Hurricane Helene may apply for assistance through the Georgia Hurricane Helene Block Grant Program. The application will remain open until closing at midnight on April 27, 2026. The application, eligibility requirements, guidance documents, and additional details are available at www.farmrecovery.com.

    Alabama Conservation Advisory Board (CAB) Meeting at the Alabama State Capitol Auditorium, 600 Dexter Avenue, Montgomery. The decisions of this board impact all hunting activities that take place on your land. The CAB assists in formulating policies for the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR), examines all rules and regulations, and makes recommendations for their change or amendment.     ForestSAT 2026 at the J. Wayne Reitz Union, University of Florida. ForestSAT is an international conference that focuses on the application of remote sensing, geospatial technologies, and artificial intelligence in forestry and related fields. It provides a platform for scientists, researchers, and professionals to present their latest findings, exchange ideas, and discuss the advancements and challenges in forest monitoring and management using satellite, airborne, and ground-based sensors at various spatial and temporal scales.     SilvoPro Course at Lick Skillet Farm, 800 Lick Skillet Lane. This course is for farmers and professionals who want to learn how to integrate silvopasture into their current work. Held at a working farm, the two-day event focuses on hands-on learning, including developing silvopasture plans, touring real-world implementations, and understanding how to successfully establish and manage tree-based grazing systems.     Board Meeting of Alabama Forever Wild Land Trust at the southwest campus of Bishop State Community College, 925 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile.     Longleaf Planting Funds Request deadline is June 1. The Longleaf Alliance works with multiple partners to provide longleaf pine seedling funds to landowners. Funding requests are accepted now until June 1st. Applicants are encourage to apply early as funding opportunities may arise before the deadline.     Online Woodland Options for Landowners is a 10-week self-paced online course that teaches the fundamentals of forest management. Topics include setting management goals, forest history, stewardship, marking boundary lines, using maps, using soil surveys, forest ecology, and more.     Aquaponics Workshop at 325 Devils Ford Road. This course is essentially a teacher’s workshop that provides classroom and hands-on training on the principles of aquaponics. Topics will include system components and construction, system maintenance, fish handling, fish care, water quality, and diagnostics. Participants will have the opportunity to build a tabletop miniature aquaponics system, practice hands-on water quality sampling and fish handling, and develop a lesson plan that can be used in a classroom setting.
