A Conversation between an AFOA Member and an IP Wood Dealer in East Alabama
See attached Letter from International Paper to Wood Dealer.
I just got off the phone with a very large private wood dealer in East Alabama.
He told me about a form IP now requires him to sign, indicating that the landowner will acquiesce to land-use demands from the European Union before they will buy his wood. The attached letter from IP lays out IP’s position.
The wood dealer must also submit a boundary map of the tract with the form.
As the wood dealer told me, “how the hell do I know what the landowner will do”. So, he just fills out the form that he expects the landowner will let the land regenerate naturally.
GP has also told this dealer that GP is going to do the same thing, only they haven’t announced when they will start.
He also told me that IP now uses satellite surveillance to check on logging. If the wood dealer says they’ll start “next Tuesday”, and they don’t, he gets a call from IP by the end of the week saying, “we don’t see trucks out there. You said you were going to start on Tuesday”.
I bet your members would like to know about how American companies now bend the knee to European Union socialist / climate activist dictates.
